Mathew R. Tempest, MD, joined the Alta View Eye Care Center in 2001. Dr. Tempest is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in anterior segment surgeries, including cataract removal, lens implantation, Lasik.  As a Utah native, Dr. Tempest received his undergraduate education at both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, graduating in 1997. He completed his transitional internship at Tucson Medical Center in Arizona and went on to complete his residency training in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Milwaukee Eye Institute in 2001. He is currently on staff at Alta View Hospital, and St. Mark’s Hospital. Dr. Tempest is a member of the American Medical Association, Utah State Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.  Dr. Tempest enjoys hiking, skiing, and climbing. He loves spending time with his wife Stephanie and their new baby daughter Tessa.
