Dr. Ramsey is a general ophthalmologist with extensive experience in performing ocular and refractive surgery, including LASIK. He currently serves as a clinical professor of surgery within the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He also has been a frequent lecturer for multiple state and national medical organizations. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Utah State Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Salt Lake County Medical Society. He served as president of the Alta View Hospital medical staff in 1985 and the Utah Ophthalmology Society in 1987.

Mathew R. Tempest, MD, joined Dr. Ramsey at Alta View Eye Care Center in 2001. Dr. Tempest is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in anterior segment surgeries, including cataract removal, lens implantation, Lasik, and conductive keratoplasty (CK). As a Utah native, Dr. Tempest received his undergraduate education at both the University of Utah and Brigham Young University. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, graduating in 1997. He completed his transitional internship at Tucson Medical Center in Arizona and went on to complete his residency training in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Milwaukee Eye Institute in 2001. He is currently on staff at Alta View Hospital, and St. Mark’s Hospital. Dr. Tempest is a member of the American Medical Association, Utah State Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
